Bronley S. Boyd
Boyd Converting Company

Bronley S. Boyd founded Boyd Converting Company Inc. in October 1979. The company is a supplier to industrial customers of high value-added non-woven and specialty paper products, and converting services for very technical applications. Its manufacturing plant, containing its clean-room, slitting, rewinding, sheeting, die-cutting, and ultrasonic bonding lines and adjacent warehouse are located in South Lee, Massachusetts. The company specializes in products which require precision manufacturing within a controlled clean-room environment for customers with strict documentation procedures. In many cases, the product becomes a component of the customer's product; for example, capacitor paper in electrolytic capacitors, coil insulation paper in electric coils, wipers inside floppy disks, wipers on equipment making electrical circuit boards and ceramic capacitors, and the release paper on Band-Aids. In 1988 the company expanded its marketing and product development department, and strengthened the organization in the areas of quality control, customer service, and production planning in order to serve the specialty materials markets. Boyd Converting Company, Inc. has grown to a workforce of 85 employees, almost doubling its personnel in the past five years to meet customer demand. ISO 9002 certification was obtained in 1997.

The successes of Boyd Converting Company, Inc. reflect the quality attitudes of its founder, Bronley S. Boyd, who extends his leadership in volunteerism into the Berkshire County community.
