MassMutual Young Entrepreneurial Scholar
Jami Chrzanowski
Jami is receiving the second annual MassMutual Young Entrepreneurial Scholar Award. The award includes $500 which is to be used for postsecondary educational costs or as an investment in the student’s business venture. In addition, Jamie was recently selected by Springfield Technical Community College’s Entrepreneurial Institute and the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship as the winner in the YES! Business Plan Competition.
A junior at Minnechaug Regional High School, Jami is the founder of Center Stage Studio of Dance. Her lifelong love of dance inspired her to create a studio that is geared towards teaching people of all ages how to dance. She offers classes in jazz, modern, tap, ballet, lyrical, pointe, and soft shoe tap. She also offers classes for special needs students who are hearing or vision impaired. Jami also includes charity work in her business by contributing proceeds to the American Heart Association’s Dance for Heart program, Make a Wish Foundation, and the Western Massachusetts AIDS Foundation.
Jami has been a dancer for 14 years, and given the chance, she believes that she can make a dancer out of anyone. “I want to stimulate and inspire people to see the benefit of the art of Dance as a physical exercise as well as a mental challenge, †Jami says.
Upon graduation from high school, she plans on attending college and majoring in Physical Therapy, while also studying dance. Jami hopes to one day be a successful entrepreneur, dancer and medical professional.
