Erin Brunk
Erin is the recipient of the annual Hasbro Games Young Entrepreneurial Scholars Award. The award includes $500 to be used for post-secondary educational costs or as an investment in the student's business venture. Erin was the first place winner in Springfield Technical Community College's Entrepreneurial Institute regional YES! Business Plan Competition.
Erin is a graduate of Quaboag Regional High School where her participation in the Young Entrepreneurial Scholars entrepreneurship class inspired her to pursue entrepreneurship as a career pathway. Erin developed her winning business plan for The Dance Corner as part of the entrepreneurship class.
Erin credits her working experience at Yankee Candle as showing her key ingredients for success in retail, and her high school retail experience confirmed those lessons. Her entrepreneurship class at Quaboag took over the operation of the school store, stocking and ordering, promoting school spirit through marketing projects, and practicing our sales associate skills with student customers. "Our class is very proud of what we achieved and felt we had changed our school for the better", said Erin.
Erin now attends Westfield State College and is pursuing a degree in business. She hopes to increase her skills and continue her development as a successful business owner.
