Cindy Johnson
Cindy grew up with the golf and tennis business around her. Literally. Her Dad, Fran, began the business from their home in West Springfield and as it grew, moved to their current location on Myron Street in West Springfield.
Cindy attended Springfield College and graduated with a degree in rehabilitation in 1984. From there, she went to work at Fran Johnson's.
Twelve years later, her father decided to retire and Cindy, in 1996, became President of Fran Johnson's Golf and Racket Headquarters. She knew that to remain competitive and grow, Fran Johnson's had to excel in service. She makes sure there are enough associates in the store at any time to help any customer with any question.
Cindy is active in the business community and serves on a number of committees with the West Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
Cindy is the co-founder of the local chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association which has over 250 members. She is passionate about allowing young people to be exposed to golf. She recently donated 100 sets of clubs to the Springfield school system to help establish golf teams. She hopes to have a United States Golf Association "First Tee" Program active in the area in the near future.
When the United States Golf Association selected the Mount Holyoke Golf Club to host the 2004 U.S. Women's Open, Cindy was immediately named to be on the Executive Committee for the Tournament.
